2010-08-30 Many questions, but so many mistakes it confuses (1 of 5)
The editors of this book clearly dropped the ball. There are so many mistakes throughout, particularly in the geometry section. Diagrams are missing, simple mathmatical mistakes are frequent, and explainations don't match the questions. If you don't have a firm grasp on the concepts, this book could really confuse you.

All this being said, the sheer number of questions allow you to practice the questions, and really cement your skills. And since it's broken down by tiny concepts (triangles, quadralaterals, and equations all have their own sections), you can really focus on what you need to practice.

2010-03-16 I agree (1 of 5)
Everything's been said, but just to back up the previous reviews, the errors in this book are prevalent enough to make the entire book completely useless. It's a waste of time to burn these answers and methods into your brain when you can only be somewhat certain those answers are even correct. I'm going to try to get my money back for this book although I feel entitled to much more then just a refund, seeing as I've wasted about 3 weeks of my time-sensitive study program on this book.

Just to give a few examples, the most common errors are simple typos, answer explanations referring to the wrong question, and answers corresponding to the wrong letter such as on pg. 113, which says the answer to question #5 is D. 540,000 but in the actual question 540,000 is choice E.

Worse then those are the errors that render the question impossible to answer such as the first data sufficiency statement on question 6 on pg. 90: "Monique caught three times as many fish as Shannon, who caught half as many fish as Shannon".

The most destructive of all, however, are the answers that appear to be correct, thus prompting you to adopt the strategy used, but are actually false. I've caught several of these only after spending extra time going over something that seemed strange, which leads me to believe that there's many others I didn't actually catch that have led me to adopt eroneous strategies. An example is the explanation to question #9 ,erroneously labled as question 8, on pg. 114. I won't write the whole thing, but the answer arrived at is dependent on the statement that "There is no combination of numbers that will fit statement (2) and provide a "yes" answer though, so statement (2) is sufficient. The answer is choice (B)". If you trusted Princeton Review you would move on, committing their strategy to memory, but if you work out the problem a little farther you see that there are plenty of combinations of numbers that fit statement (2) and provide a "yes" answer, so the answer would not be (B) and the strategy given is flawed. This error can obviously be very destructive to the learning process when you're trying to commit every aspect of this book to memory.

2010-02-20 Please don't buy this. I have wasted time and money with it (1 of 5)
Let it be known that I have purchased hundreds of books off Amazon and this will be my first ever review: good or bad. I'm not going to make it long which would further waste my time with this book; so here goes:

The book has enough errors to make it hard to learn which answer in the answer section corresponds to which question. Some three person questions have only two names so it makes it impossible to answer the questions.

In short, this book has so many typos and other errors that its value as a question and answer book is greatly diminished.

Also, and this was my first mental complaint, the explanations for the problems are much less helpful than other company's books I have read. So, while it shows the correct answer (hopefully) I wasn't taught anything new that might help me to solve a similar problem better or faster.

One mistake and that would be ok; 5 or more in the first 100 pages that lead to me doubting the correctness of answers is grounds for a return.

I hope my review prevents others from buying this book. I bought the book thinking that I will just go through the questions for practice to eventually be able to do very well on the real thing but this is not the answer and there are plenty of other answers (other company's books) out there.

2009-12-31 Despite Wide-Ranging Study Material, Typos Make this Book Useless (1 of 5)
Feeling completely disheartened after a night studying with this book, I figured I had a steep hill to climb with my studying and went to sleep.

When I dove back in the next morning, I realized something. This book is FILLED with errors.

The solutions often quote the wrong answer, data sufficiency questions provide erroneous data that is then contradicted in the solutions section.

If I had stuck with using the book, I'm sure I could compile a longer list, but like many people who are applying for B-Schools, time is of the essence.

And that's probably the greatest problem, because of the Princeton Reviews carelessness, I've lost study time.

I likely will never buy another Princeton Review product because their credibility is shot.

2009-12-08 Review of GMAT questions (4 of 5)
This was a great prep book that worked well after reading a more "disection" book of the GMAT and it's questions.
